What The Tool Does?

A GEPCO bill is the monthly electricity invoice issued by the Gujranwala Electric Power Company to over 5.1 million homes and businesses across six northern Punjab districts. Many people still call it a WAPDA bill, since GEPCO is one of the distribution companies that spun off from WAPDA in 1998. The hard copy is meant to arrive by post a week or so before the due date, but it often shows up late, gets misplaced, or never reaches the right door at all. When that happens, you need a fast way to access a duplicate bill so you can pay on time and avoid the late payment surcharge.

Our GEPCO online bill check tool fills that gap. We connect directly to the official PITC (Power Information Technology Company) portal that GEPCO uses, and return the exact same duplicate bill in seconds. You can use it to:

  • View your latest bill, including the amount due, the payable amount after due date, and the detailed charges
  • Download a PDF copy for your records
  • Print a hard copy for over-the-counter payment at any bank
  • Check the past 12 months of bills and verify whether earlier bills were paid

We do not modify any data. The duplicate bill you see is identical to the one GEPCO would hand you in person.

How to Check Your GEPCO Bill Online

Checking your bill takes about ten seconds. Three short steps:

Step 1: Find your reference number or consumer ID

Both appear at the top of any previous GEPCO bill. The reference number is 14 digits long. A letter (U for urban, R for rural) may be printed after the digits, but do not include it when typing the number into the bill checker. The customer ID is shorter, 10 digits, with no letters. If you do not have a paper copy handy, check old SMS alerts from GEPCO or your previous bank payment receipts.

Step 2: Enter the number above

Type the 14-digit reference number into the bill checker with no spaces or dashes. If you only have your customer ID, enter that instead.

Step 3: Click ‘‘Check Bill’’ and download your copy

The system fetches your latest bill from PITC and displays it on screen. From there, press Ctrl+P (or the print menu on mobile) to either print a hard copy or save as PDF. The downloaded copy is valid for payment at any bank, JazzCash agent, or online banking app.

If you receive a ‘‘Bill Not Found’’ message, double-check the number for typos and make sure you did not include the trailing U or R letter. If the bill for the current month has not yet been generated by GEPCO, the system will display your most recent prior bill instead.

Where to Find Your Reference Number and Customer ID

The reference number is printed at the top left of your printed GEPCO bill, usually right above the customer ID. Both numbers stay the same from month to month unless your meter or account changes. If you have lost every paper copy, you can also:

  • Check SMS alerts on the mobile number registered with GEPCO
  • Review past JazzCash, EasyPaisa, or bank app payment history
  • Visit your nearest GEPCO sub-division office with your CNIC

Note: there is no official way to check your GEPCO bill by CNIC, meter number, or name. You need the reference number or customer ID.

Features

Our GEPCO bill check is built around speed, accuracy, and zero friction. Here is what is included.

  • Instant duplicate bill: Every bill loads from the official PITC system in seconds. Same data, same format, same legitimacy as the hard copy. Often called the GEPCO e-bill or d-bill, both terms mean the same thing.
  • GEPCO bill download as PDF: Save your bill to your phone or laptop, attach to email, or share with family. The PDF is identical to the printed bill.
  • Old bill history: Access bills from the previous 12 months for record-keeping, tenant disputes, or verifying past payments. Useful when checking if a previous bill was paid or not.
  • GEPCO bill calculator: Estimate your bill based on units consumed, slab rate, and current GEPCO tariff. Helpful for budgeting before the official bill arrives.
  • View bill from anywhere: Access your bill from home, work, or while travelling. The bill is the same whether you check from Gujranwala or elsewhere.
  • Works on any device: Optimised for mobile, tablet, and desktop. Whether you are checking from a shop in Sialkot on mobile data or at home in Gujrat on Wi-Fi, the tool loads fast.
  • No login required: No registration, no email, no password. Enter your reference number and get your bill.

Benefits

Most GEPCO consumers receive their paper bill only days before it is due, leaving little time to plan payment. Our online tool gives you back that time.

  • Pay on time, avoid the surcharge: Get your bill 7 to 10 days earlier than the courier delivers it. Pay before the due date and skip the late payment surcharge.
  • Skip the queue: No more standing in line at the bank to ask for a bill copy. Download yours in seconds from home.
  • Verify payment status: Cross-check whether you (or a tenant) actually paid last month’s bill using the payment history printed on your latest copy.
  • Plan your budget: With the GEPCO bill calculator and visibility into your past three months of bills, you can spot usage spikes early and adjust before slab rates push you into a higher bracket.
  • Free, every month: No paid plan, no premium tier. Use the tool as often as you like.

Understanding Your GEPCO Bill

Your GEPCO bill is more than just one line and a total. Several charges and abbreviations show up every month, and understanding each helps you read your bill correctly.

  • Reference number: A 14-digit code printed at the top left, sometimes followed by U (urban) or R (rural). This is your primary lookup ID for any GEPCO online bill check.
  • Customer ID: A 10-digit account identifier printed below the reference number. An alternative way to look up your account.
  • FPA (Fuel Price Adjustment): A charge that reflects the changing fuel cost of power generation. Set by NEPRA monthly. When global fuel prices rise, FPA rises too, even if your usage stays the same. Both GST and electricity duty are also applied separately on the FPA amount, which is why you see ‘‘GST on FPA’’ and ‘‘ED on FPA’’ as their own lines.
  • FC Surcharge: Financing Cost Surcharge, a per-unit charge that goes toward debt servicing for power-sector projects. It can be a meaningful share of your total bill.
  • GST: An 18% general sales tax applied to your electricity charges.
  • Electricity Duty: A provincial tax set at 1.5% of your cost of electricity.
  • QTR Tariff Adjustment and DMC: Two charges that usually appear together. QTR is the Quarterly Tariff Adjustment, which reconciles the gap between approved and actual generation costs each quarter. DMC is the Distribution Margin Charge, GEPCO's own fee for maintaining the network.
  • TV Fee: A flat charge to fund Pakistan Television Corporation, typically Rs. 35. Some categories may show Rs. 0 if an exemption applies.
  • Slab rate: Your per-unit cost rises in steps as you consume more. Staying under 200 units a month qualifies you for the protected (lifeline) tariff with significantly lower rates.
  • L.P. Surcharge: Late Payment Surcharge, applied automatically if you pay after the due date. Tiered: a small amount if you are a few days late, larger thereafter.
  • Arrears with age: Unpaid amounts carried forward from previous months. The format is amount over months. A negative arrears figure means you have a credit from a past overpayment that gets deducted from the current bill.

How to Pay Your GEPCO Bill Online?

Once you have your duplicate bill, paying is just as fast. The two pieces of information you need are your 14-digit reference number and the amount due. Any of these channels will work.

  • JazzCash and EasyPaisa: Open the app, tap Utilities → Electricity → GEPCO, enter your reference number, and confirm the amount.
  • HBL Mobile App: Bill Payments → Utility → Electricity → GEPCO. Enter your reference number and pay from your account.
  • UBL Digital App: Bill Payments → Electricity → GEPCO. Add your reference number once and the app remembers it for future months.
  • Meezan, MCB, Bank Alfalah, NBP, BOP: All major Pakistani banks support GEPCO bill payment through their mobile apps. Look for the utility bills section.
  • NayaPay and SadaPay: Both fintech wallets support GEPCO bill payment under their utility section.
  • Credit card: Most banks allow GEPCO bill payment via credit card through their mobile apps. Select GEPCO under utilities and pay directly to your card.
  • Bank counter: Walk into any HBL, UBL, MCB, Meezan, Allied, NBP, or Bank Alfalah branch with your printed bill. Cash or cheque both work.
  • ATM bill payment: Select banks allow GEPCO bill payment from their ATMs using your debit card.
  • Post office: Pakistan Post counters across GEPCO's service area accept bill payments in cash.

To avoid the L.P. surcharge, pay at least two days before the due date printed on your bill.

GEPCO Peak Hours

Knowing GEPCO peak hours helps you reduce your bill if you have a TOU (Time of Use) meter. Higher rates apply during peak hours, so shifting heavy appliances (AC, iron, water pump) to off-peak windows can save you money over a billing cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are the most common questions GEPCO consumers ask about checking, paying, and understanding their bills.

No. You need either the 14-digit reference number or the 10-digit customer ID. There is no official way to look up a GEPCO bill by CNIC, meter number, or name. If you have lost both numbers, check old SMS alerts, bank payment history, or visit your nearest sub-division office.

Open your latest duplicate bill. The payment status section shows whether the current month is paid. The right side of the bill also shows a payment history for the previous 12 months. Any month appearing as arrears has not been paid.

When you generate the current bill, the billing history printed on the bottom half of that bill includes payments and units for the previous 12 months. For older bills, the official PITC system retains records you can access with the same reference number.

Yes. JazzCash, EasyPaisa, NayaPay, SadaPay, and the mobile apps of every major Pakistani bank (HBL, UBL, MCB, Meezan, Bank Alfalah, NBP, BOP) all support GEPCO bill payment.

FPA stands for Fuel Price Adjustment. It is a charge set by NEPRA each month that reflects the actual fuel cost of generating electricity. It can be positive or negative. Both GST and electricity duty are applied separately on the FPA amount.

GEPCO MIS (Management Information System) is the internal system GEPCO uses to track consumer data, meter readings, payments, and complaints. From a consumer’s view, MIS-related queries usually mean accessing bill information, which you can do through our checker above.

The most common reasons are typos in the reference number, including the trailing U or R letter (which should be omitted), or PITC server maintenance. Try the customer ID instead, or wait a few minutes and retry.

GEPCO supplies electricity to six districts across northern Punjab: Gujranwala, Sialkot, Gujrat, Narowal, Hafizabad, and Mandi Bahauddin.

No. We are an independent service that connects to the official PITC portal to fetch your bill. For account issues, outages, billing disputes, new connections, or unresolved complaints, contact GEPCO directly through their helpline 118 (or SMS 8118). You can also escalate unresolved complaints through the NEPRA ASAAN APPROACH mobile app.
